(ongoing project)
«I skate alone most of the time.»

Lorin Rai (23) is one of very few girl skaters in Nepal.

“I want to move to a place with better skateparks and where more girls are skating. But I need to be here. Who will inspire more girls in Nepal to skate if I leave?”

With no government support to the skateboard community, but a lot of support from her parents, she makes her own way in a society where girls have to work a lot harder to follow their dreams.

Last year Lorin competed in a national skateboard competition and she won first place. She got 30 000 nepali rupees. The boys first place got 100 000 nepali rupees.

Despite facing challenges and gender discrimination, Lorin keeps pushing herself in the sport she has dedicated all her time to.
